Work, errands, catching up with friends, school projects, grocery shopping, exercising, family time… we are always on the go, go, go and we don’t even notice anymore.
Let’s seek more out of life by being more mindful about what we say “yes” and “no” to. Here is where PAUSE plays a big role. Pausing allows you to examine the potential ramifications of your decisions, big or small. Pausing forces us to come out of hiding and cease the running we often do from our own experience. We begin to listen to our thoughts and refocus our attention to what matters in life. So PAUSE is not just that button that places our favorite movie or television show on hold until we are ready to hit the Play button again. Pausing allows us to appreciate the little moments and carefully plan the big ones, by giving our minds and bodies a chance to rest and recover.
With the holidays upon us, life will get busier, it’s inevitable. We will feel the pressure to say “yes” to each and every holiday party we get invited to, jumping from soiree to soiree ultimately leaving us exhausted and confused by the social whirlwind. Saying “no” isn’t always easy, but when said from a place of love it’s often the right answer.
Take this moment to pause and take notice of your heart, your breath, the fallen leaves, your warm house… reflect on the incredible people in your life. Gratitude will fill your heart and that’s always healthy.
Wishing our Balanced Bee tribe a holiday season filled with many PAUSES!
